Similar Alien
An Original Art Series About Being Yourself.
If we were all the same,
this planet would be boring.
Alien Artwork About Life, Love,
History, and Popular Culture.

Artist
Art makes my heart palpitate. In fact, all things related to art do… art history, old art, new art, the appreciation of art, questions about art, answers about art, events related to art, clouds that form art, waves that sculpt artistically through the water, flowers that beautifully splash color & laughter with the wind and just about anything else with any connection to art. Art is good.

WHY
People often ask why I create Similar Alien artwork. There are several reasons. First, I have an irresistible urge to draw and paint aliens. It’s an urge as strong as my insatiable craving for chocolate. Whether influenced by some unseen force or simply my own imagination, these concepts keep emerging in my mind, compelling me to bring them to life.
Another reason I create alien art is rooted in logic: I firmly believe we are not alone in this vast, ever-expanding universe. To claim we are the only intelligent life is both ignorant and arrogant. My education has taught me about the enormity of space and time. Both are beyond comprehension, constantly expanding and stretching into the infinite. Given this immense scale, it is not just improbable but statistically impossible that humanity exists in isolation on Earth.
PARADOXICAL NONSENSE
The Fermi Paradox highlights the paradox between the high likelihood of extraterrestrial life, considering the billions of stars and planets, and our complete lack of evidence or contact with such civilizations. However, Enrico Fermi’s question overlooks a crucial point: humans have not yet ventured beyond our own moon, let alone traveled to other planets, solar systems, or galaxies. If we define “intelligent life” by our current spacefaring abilities, the bar remains quite low. I’ve never been to Istanbul, but that doesn’t mean the city doesn’t exist.
BEFORE HUMANS
With that in mind, I believe aliens have been visiting Earth since before humans existed. They originally came to mine diamonds for laser technology and gold for its malleability and heat-deflecting properties. Humans were bioengineered as a labor force, with a small group evolved to serve as management. After extracting most of the diamonds and gold, many of the aliens left, becoming the beings we now call “gods.” Over time, these events transformed into religious beliefs with moral codes to guide early human civilization. Unfortunately, that experiment has clearly gone awry. The aliens who remain have retreated to bases in the deepest parts of our oceans, keeping their distance from humanity.

THE BEGINNING
Similar Alien began with a painting I created as part of a series titled “What Songs Look Like.” This series featured paintings inspired by song lyrics, accompanied by the lyrics and headphones so viewers could experience the music alongside the visual story. One piece was based on the song “PETS” by Porno for Pyros. The song resonates deeply with me, imagining a future where aliens must intervene to save Earth from human destruction. Once these higher beings protect this beautiful planet, we may be relegated to the status of “pets.”

The lyrics, by Perry Farrell (upside-down top left)…
PETS
Children are innocent, yeah
Teenagers fucked up in the head
Adults are only more fucked up
And elderlies are like children
Will there be another race to
Come along and take over for us?
Maybe Martians could do
Better than we’ve done
We’ll make great pets
My friend says we’re like the dinosaurs
Only we are doing ourselves in
Much faster than they ever did
We’ll make great pets
We’ll make great pets
